Briana Le is a fourth-year undergraduate majoring in Aquatic Biology and minoring in Professional Writing (Science Communication Track) at UC Santa Barbara, where she is also a FUERTE Fellow and McNair Scholar. Briana is a Vietnamese-American, first-generation student from San Diego. Her research interests range from marine ecology to sustainable aquaculture. She has researched the thermal tolerance of juvenile giant kelp and interned at The Cultured Abalone Farm. The concept of growing marine organisms for both consumption and conservation purposes excites her. Outside of research, she values making science accessible to the public. Her goal is to help readers understand and appreciate the ocean and sustainable seafood. Briana plans to establish her own shellfish farm in Washington and wants to pursue a career as a professor focused on aquaculture and science communication. In her leisure time, she’s either relaxing with her two cats (MooMoo and Stache) or lifting weights at the gym. She is also an avid fan of Hatsune Miku and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.
