Thu is a first-year undergraduate at UC Santa Barbara majoring in Pre-Biology. Originally from Vietnam, she immigrated to Orange County at nine months old. Thu's research paper explores the political opinions surrounding acetaminophen (an active ingredient in Tylenol) and how it could potentially cause autism in children. Thu hopes that her paper will help readers learn to identify biased opinions that are trying to persuade them to believe a certain way. After completing her undergraduate studies, Thu plans to take a gap year and continue her education in optometry school, with hopes of becoming an optometrist. Outside of academics, she enjoys being involved in many volunteer organizations, trying new restaurants and cafes, and hanging out with her family and friends.
