Sarah Barbosa Camacho is a recent Promise Scholar graduate from the class of 2023 and completed two degrees in Spanish and History of Public Policy and Law with minors in Applied Psychology and Education. Sarah's historical research was conducted during her last quarter as undergraduate for the History department and is inspired by her own community background. She hopes that this project will further raise awareness and inform others of the indigenous and Latina immigrant communities; Sarah will continue her work in bilingual education research and psychological backgrounds by pursuing her Master's in psychology and obtain a Spanish teaching credential. Eventually she hopes to earn her doctorate in PsyD to work as a bilingual psychologist to bridge the gap in Spanish speaking communities and access to mental health services.
